Our ethos and vision is...

for all members of the school community to work together to develop happy, confident and enthusiastic children who thrive in a stimulating and exciting environment – an environment where there is mutual respect so that each child develops a lifelong love of learning.

Aims

  • To deliver high quality teaching that enthuses, challenges and inspires all children.
  • To provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment where children feel happy and can achieve their full potential
  • To encourage independence and teach the children to be co-operative, respectful, caring and honest individuals who have questioning, enquiring minds and take responsibility for their own actions.
  • To encourage self expression, where children help to influence the direction of given aspects of the school.
  • To value the contribution of each and every member of the school community encouraging self-discipline and mutual respect.
  • To aspire to personal excellence and achievement for all.

Curriculum and Learning

We are very proud of our curriculum which engages, challenges and inspires the children across the school in their learning about the past and present, the near and far, the natural and the experimental as well as the arts and a wide range of sports.  Our committed subject leads within the school are continually monitoring, evaluating, reviewing and updating their subjects alongside the class teachers to ensure that all the children are becoming valued and knowledgeable citizens of the world we live in.   Follow the link to find out more about our Curriculum Intent, Implementation and Impact.

Safeguarding

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, governors and volunteers to share this commitment.   We have a Designated Lead for Safeguarding, along with a Deputy,  who works alongside families to ensure we provide their children the best support available.   We are fully committed to being an Inclusive School.

Our school stakeholders regularly update their knowledge and training in Safeguarding and are fully familiar with the most up to date requirements of safeguarding in the document "Keeping Children Safe in Education "  Follow the link to find out more about safeguarding.

Our School Values!     CHaS

At WECPS we aim to follow our Caring, Helping and Sharing beliefs to ensure we become model citizens within our diverse and ever changing world.  Over the years we have supported various charities to engage our children in order to support their understanding of the challenges of the world in which they live.
